A calmer next step
Help for your everyday kitchen.
Practical answers, from keeping a handwritten favourite to planning the next meal.
Keep your recipes safe. Keep original recipe material and avoid clearing app data or uninstalling as a routine troubleshooting step.
Recipes and importing
How do I keep a handwritten family recipe?
Start with a clear camera or gallery image. Review the recognised ingredients and directions against the original, correct mistakes, then save. Handwriting quality affects results; keep the original and review manually when recognition is incomplete.
Can I import a URL or PDF?
Supported recipe URLs and PDFs can be reviewed before saving. Some websites restrict access or use unsupported layouts; a scanned PDF may need recognition. Check the whole recipe, even when the file opens successfully.
What if an import is interrupted?
Return to Cuiselle and inspect the existing import or recovery prompt before starting again. Keep the draft and source. If something looks wrong, note the screen and app version. Do not clear storage or uninstall to try to recover it.
Your everyday kitchen
Where do I find my way around?
Use the main tabs for Home, Recipes, Pantry, Plan and Shopping. Open a saved recipe for its ingredients, directions and Cook. Review any proposed food or plan changes before confirming them.
How does Cook affect my Pantry?
Reading steps or using Previous and Next does not confirm a stock change. Read any completion or portion review before confirming. You can return to an active cooking session while the app remains running; progress is held in memory and is not restored after the app closes or restarts.
How do planning and prepared portions work?
Remaining portions record prepared food still present; reserved portions are already allocated to plans. Free to plan is what remains unreserved. Check the quantities in the review before confirming a change. Back or Cancel lets you leave without confirming a stock change.
Are Pantry dates a food-safety recommendation?
No. Dates, quantities and portions are household records. Check storage, ingredient suitability, allergies and cooking or reheating against reliable guidance. The app does not certify that food is safe.
Your data and device
Where are my recipes and household records?
Your household files are stored on your device. There is no automatic household cloud sync. Backup and transfer behaviour varies by device and provider; universal restore or export is not available. Keep an independent copy of originals you need.
Can I share a recipe with my family?
Public hosted recipe links are not available. If you send content through another app, check the recipient and your permission to share it. Incoming device sharing can bring supported material into Cuiselle for review; it does not create automatic household sync.
Does Cuiselle work offline or on Huawei?
Many saved records can be used without a connection, while URL imports and other remote services need networking. Android recognition uses a bundled model and Google components; first-use offline recognition on devices without Google Mobile Services has not been verified. Huawei preparation covers compatible Android devices, not native HarmonyOS NEXT.
Can I erase everything or move to another device?
Use the controls for the particular record or feature. There is no single complete erase, household export or universal restore workflow. Sources, drafts, history, external copies and device backups may have separate lifecycles. Ask for help before a destructive step, and keep existing records intact.
Still need a hand?
Start with a short description, app version and device type. Avoid sending private household files or photos unless a relevant, minimal example is needed.
